This document is a translation of the original Allgemeine Geschäftsbedingungen (AGB) written in German. In the event of any discrepancies or differences in interpretation, the German version shall prevail.

General Terms and Conditions (GTC)

for Course Registration with Hundeschule FAMCANE GmbH

1. Services

Hundeschule FAMCANE GmbH offers professional dog training services, including group lessons, individual coaching, mantrailing, foundation and advanced courses, and special offers (e.g. intensive programs, specialist training, training holidays). The available services are published on the website www.hundeschule-famcane.ch. The dog school reserves the right to modify its training offerings at any time. The version published on the website at the relevant time shall be authoritative.

Services are provided primarily in the cantons of Zurich, Zug, Schwyz, and Lucerne, as well as other locations specified on the website.

Unless otherwise stated in the course description or individually agreed, the duration of a lesson is generally 50 minutes. Courses are conducted in German unless another language is specified in the course description or agreed upon in advance.

Hundeschule FAMCANE GmbH provides each client and their dog with advice and instruction based on the latest training methods and findings in cynology. However, success in achieving specific goals or within a particular timeframe cannot be guaranteed.

2. Registration

All services are subject to availability and must be booked in advance (registration). The number of participants per course is limited. Registrations are considered in the order in which they are received. FAMCANE GmbH reserves the right to refuse registrations or registered participants without stating reasons.

Registrations for training with Hundeschule FAMCANE GmbH are binding. The client is therefore obliged to pay the course fee. Failure to pay the course fee does not constitute cancellation. By concluding the contract, the participant agrees to these GTC, which form an integral part of the contract. Participants are required to register for all lessons via WhatsApp or email.

Missed lessons cannot be made up and are not refunded. Course fees cannot be transferred to other courses if lessons are missed. If a participant fails to complete the required number of hours due to excessive absences, the missing lessons may be made up by private lessons at the applicable rate, subject to prior agreement.

3. Cancellation, Deregistration, and Course Execution

Cancellations of group lessons, mantrailing sessions, and individual coaching must be communicated in writing at least 24 hours in advance, or by telephone in emergencies. In the event of late cancellation, the full training fee will be charged or deducted from the subscription.

If a foundation course or special training (e.g. intensive programs, training holidays) is cancelled less than 14 days before the course start, 50% of the course fee is payable in addition to the processing fee. If cancellation occurs less than 7 days before the start, or in the event of non-attendance or course withdrawal, the full course fee is payable in addition to the processing fee, regardless of the reason. Refunds or transfers are excluded.

If a participant arrives late for a lesson, the lesson will end at the originally agreed time unless otherwise agreed. Any additional training time will be charged separately.

Hundeschule FAMCANE GmbH is entitled to appoint qualified substitute trainers. A change of trainer does not entitle participants to withdraw from the contract or claim a refund.

The dog school reserves the right to cancel group lessons, courses, special training, or mantrailing sessions if the minimum number of participants is not reached. Participants will be informed in advance and any fees already paid will be refunded in full.

Participants who disrupt training or act in violation of animal welfare principles may be excluded from further training. Training fees remain payable in full and will not be refunded if paid in advance.

Training sessions generally take place in all weather conditions, except under extreme circumstances.

If a course, lesson, or multi-day program must be cancelled due to force majeure (e.g. extreme weather, official restrictions, illness or accident of the trainer, pandemics), participants will be informed immediately. In such cases, a replacement date will be offered. If the course is cancelled entirely, the course fee will be refunded.

4. Training Fees and Payment

Training fees are based on the published rates or individual agreements. Additional travel costs may be charged for training at locations requested by the client. All prices are in Swiss francs (CHF) and include VAT where applicable.

Payment terms:

  • Individual group lessons, mantrailing sessions, and private coaching must be paid in cash or via accepted payment methods before the lesson begins.

  • Subscriptions must be paid in full before the first lesson in cash, via TWINT, or by bank transfer and are valid for 12 months from the date of issue. Unused lessons expire after this period. Transfers or extensions are excluded unless expressly approved by the dog school. Refunds of subscriptions or partial amounts are excluded. In justified cases (e.g. prolonged illness, accident of dog or handler, pregnancy, officially mandated training breaks), extensions or suspensions may be granted upon written request at the discretion of the dog school.

  • Foundation courses must be paid in full before the first lesson.

  • Special offers require a deposit as specified in the course description. Full payment must be made according to the stated conditions. Participation is not guaranteed without timely and complete payment.

In the event of late payment, reminder fees of CHF 20 per reminder and default interest of 5% per annum will be charged. Participation in further courses may be denied until outstanding amounts are settled.

5. Participation Requirements

Participants must be at least 18 years old unless explicitly stated otherwise in the course description.

Dogs must be registered in accordance with applicable regulations. Participation is limited to one dog per client unless otherwise agreed.

Health requirements:
Only dogs with a valid vaccination record, appropriate vaccination protection, and free from illness or parasites may participate. Puppies must have age-appropriate vaccination protection. The vaccination record must be emailed to the dog school before the first lesson without being requested. Female dogs in heat may participate subject to prior agreement.

Duty to disclose:
Dog owners must inform the dog school of any illnesses, behavioral issues, excessive aggression, or anxiety before the first training session and throughout the training period. Trainers are legally obliged to report excessive aggression, serious injuries, or signs of abuse to the relevant authorities.

Participants must have adequate liability insurance. Proof may be requested at any time.

In the event of biting incidents or other safety-relevant events, the dog school may impose special requirements (e.g. leash or muzzle obligation) or exclude the dog from training.

Language:
Courses are conducted in German unless otherwise stated. Sufficient understanding of German is required. Some courses are offered in English; this will be explicitly stated in the course description.

6. Leash Requirement and Conduct During Training

Dogs must be kept on leash before and during lessons unless explicitly instructed otherwise by the trainer. Adequate distance between teams must be maintained. No contact between dogs on leash is permitted.

Dog waste must be picked up and disposed of properly.

Dogs must be sufficiently socialized and under control to safely participate in group training. If this is not the case, private lessons may be recommended. Refusal may result in exclusion.

Participants must arrive at the training location on time. Accompanying persons are welcome provided they do not disrupt training. Children may attend only under the supervision of an adult who is not actively participating.

The dog school ensures a respectful and safe learning environment. The use of aversive tools (e.g. choke collars, prong collars, e-collars, spray bottles) is prohibited.

Discriminatory or aggressive behavior may result in exclusion without refund.

7. Data Protection and Copyright

Hundeschule FAMCANE GmbH processes personal data solely for contract fulfillment, billing, course organization, and communication, in accordance with Swiss data protection law. Health data must be submitted via secure channels and will be deleted after course completion or statutory retention periods.

Photos and videos taken during training may be used for website and social media purposes unless participants request anonymization. Participants may not create or publish their own recordings during courses.

All documents and materials provided are protected by copyright and may not be reproduced or used without permission.

8. Liability

Participation is at the participant’s own risk. Dog owners bear full responsibility for themselves, their dogs, and accompanying persons. Liability for personal injury, property damage, or financial loss is excluded to the extent permitted by Swiss law, except in cases of intent or gross negligence.

The dog school is not liable for theft or loss of personal items.

9. Final Provisions

These GTC may be amended at any time and take effect upon publication on the website. Individual agreements may supersede these GTC.

Should any provision be invalid, the remaining provisions shall remain unaffected.

Swiss law applies exclusively. The place of jurisdiction is Baar.

By registering for a course, the client confirms that they have read, understood, and accepted these GTC.
