FAQs
01
What is your training philosophy?
We work with modern, science-based training methods that are ethical, empathetic, and completely pain-free.
The foundation of our work is clear communication, reliable structures, and meaningful rituals that provide your dog with orientation and a sense of security. A key element is the body language of both humans and dogs: we help you better read your dog’s body language and use your own consciously and clearly. This makes communication calmer and more precise, allowing you to understand and rely on each other more effectively in everyday life. In this way, a reliable foundation for your life together is created.
This foundation forms the starting point for a stable, long-term human–dog relationship. We support you in building and continuously strengthening connection, safety, and emotional well-being, so that your dog can become calm, confident, and happy, and your partnership can grow in a balanced, trusting, and supportive way.
02
Where do the training sessions take place?
We train both at our dog training center in Rifferswil and in real-life everyday situations.
Depending on the course and training goals, sessions take place in Baar, Hausen am Albis, Zug, Cham, and Steinhausen and the surrounding areas, as well as in Lucerne. Our monthly Stadt Land Fluss social walk may also take us further afield. You will receive the exact meeting point in advance.
03
What should I (and my dog) bring to the first training session?
We recommend bringing your dog's favorite treats (small soft snacks are best so your dog doesn't have to chew for long), a comfortable harness and collar with a sturdy leash (no retractable leashes, please), a toy, and a blanket if that helps your dog relax. Some water after training is also useful. Don't worry if you are unsure about anything, we are happy to advise you on the first day.
04
How many training hours will my dog need?
It depends on your dog's training level and your goals. Some guardians see progress after just a few lessons, while others continue longer to develop skills and strengthen their partnership. We will discuss your needs together and recommend what is best for you and your dog, always at your own pace. Not sure which path is right for you? No problem! Request a free initial consultation ; we would be happy to advise you.
05
What happens if my dog has trouble keeping up or needs additional support?
That's no problem. Every dog learns differently. If your dog needs more time or space, we will adapt the exercises in the course or suggest a private lesson. The goal always remains the same: that you receive the support you need to train successfully.
06
Are vaccinations or health checks required before participating in a course?
Yes. To avoid potential infections, your dog should arrive at training healthy. Vaccinations should be up to date. If your dog is sick or unwell, please keep them at home so they can recover and the group remains protected. If your dog has any special health needs, please let us know, and we will find a way to accommodate them.
07
In which languages are the courses taught?
We offer courses in German and English. Please check the individual course descriptions for information on the language of each course. Currently, Good Citizen and Wag 'n Play are taught in English and English support is possible in encounter trainings and the Resilience & Confidence course. All private courses can also be held in English. If you're unsure or would like to participate in a group course offered only in German, just ask us!
